Voice chat and 18+ Rooms and Worlds need Age Verified 18+ status, which you get by passing both the selfie and the ID check. Players under 18 also can't go Live, make voice calls in messages, or send or view photos and videos in messages. Text chat in Rooms and messages works for every player 13 and older.

What's off for players under 18?

These limits follow the age on your account, which is your verified age if you've verified.
Can players under 18 still chat?
Yes. Players 13 to 17 can send text chat in Rooms and in messages, even if their account is age-restricted. If your messages in a Room don't appear and you never got a mute notice, contact Support with a short screen recording of what happens.
Is this a mute or an age limit?
A mute is a penalty for breaking the rules, and it comes with a notice that says so. An age limit isn't a penalty: it's based on your account's age, and the app asks you to verify instead. If you got a mute, ban, or warning notice, see How do I appeal a ban, mute, or warning?
What changes when I turn 18?
The under-18 limits end on their own when your account reaches 18 based on your verified age, so you don't need to do anything for those. Age Verified 18+ status doesn't switch on by itself, though. If you verified while you were under 18, contact Support after your birthday and ask to update your age verification so you can use voice chat and 18+ spaces.
