What happens to my selfie and ID when I verify?

Who processes your verification photos, what Highrise keeps, and how long your data is held.

Your selfie and ID go to Persona, the service provider that runs age verification for Highrise. Highrise doesn't receive or store your biometric data, and Persona deletes it within 30 days unless the law requires it to be kept longer. Highrise keeps the result of the check.

Who sees my selfie and ID?

Persona processes them to confirm your age. On the Highrise side, only a very limited number of staff can access submitted verification data, and only for compliance purposes.

What does Highrise keep?

The outcome of your verification, such as:

  • The date of birth from your ID, which becomes your account's birthday.

  • The age estimate from your selfie.

  • Whether each check passed, and a record of your attempts so Support can help if something goes wrong.

Your birthday isn't shown to other players. If you're verified 18+, the Age Verified 18+ badge on your profile is visible to others.

How long is my biometric data kept?

Persona deletes it within 30 days after collection, unless it's legally required to keep it longer, for example because of a warrant or subpoena. After that it's permanently erased.

Should I send my ID to Support to speed things up?

No. Only submit your selfie and ID on the verification screen. Support can't use ID photos sent in chat, and posting them there exposes your personal information.

Where can I read the full policies?

Who do I contact about my data?

For questions about your personal data or to ask for it to be deleted, use the contact options in the Privacy Policy. For help with a verification that's stuck, contact Support from the app (Settings, then Support Center).
