A: You can verify your age at any time. Additionally, you may be prompted to verify your age if there are concerns that you might be under the minimum age required to play Highrise (13 years old), under the age of 18, or if there is suspicion or evidence that the age you provided is inaccurate.
What is Persona, and why is it used in the verification process?
Persona is a trusted third-party service that Highrise partners with to verify user identities. It is compliant with GDPR and CCPA regulations and uses advanced technology to confirm your identity. How is my information used during the verification process?
Persona processes your ID document and selfie to verify that your ID is legitimate and that you are who you claim to be. After verification is complete, your personal data is anonymized, and only your date of birth is retained to ensure your account reflects the correct age. Highrise never stores raw data from your ID or any other personal information.
Is it safe to verify my age through this process?
Yes, it's safe. We prioritize the privacy and safety of our community. When you submit your government-issued ID for verification, an anonymized value is generated to verify your identity, ensuring that your real identity remains protected.
Which documents can I use for age verification?

A: If your age verification is successful, we will update the birthday on your account to match the one provided on your ID document.

What are the most common reasons for verification failure, even if I’m 18+ and have an ID?
A: Verification may fail due to the following common issues:

Issues with the selfie, such as incorrect positioning or poor lighting
My verification has been pending for a while. What’s going on?
Make sure the image of your ID is clear, unobstructed, and that the entire document is in the frame. Blurry or incomplete images can take longer to process. Verification may also take longer in countries that use non-Roman characters.
What should I do if my verified age is incorrect?

What happens to my documents after the verification process?
Highrise does not store or retain any of your verification documents. Persona securely manages and retains the documents in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and deletes them when no longer necessary.
