Highrise Studio is the free toolset for building Worlds: 3D games, hangouts, and interactive experiences that players join from the Highrise app. It runs on the Unity Editor and uses Lua scripting. Anyone with a Highrise account and a Windows or Mac computer can use it.
What do I need to use Highrise Studio?
A Highrise account
A Windows (64-bit, Windows 7 SP1 or later) or Mac (macOS 10.13 or later) computer. Phones and tablets aren't supported.
A graphics card that supports DirectX 10 (shader model 4.0)
An internet connection
You don't need Unity or coding experience to start. The Studio Hub walks you through setup.
How do I get started?
Download the Studio Hub from https://create.highrise.game/highrise-studio.
Install and open the Studio Hub. It prompts you to install the other tools it needs, including Unity Hub and the right version of the Unity Editor.
Create a new project from one of the templates, or open an existing one.
Follow the Highrise Studio guides to build and test your first World.
What can I build?
Anything from a simple hangout to a full multiplayer game: obstacle courses, roleplay spaces with custom characters, mini-games, shops, quests, and leaderboards. You build with Unity's tools and add gameplay with Lua scripts and the Studio API. You can also use ready-made models, scripts, and other assets from the Asset Catalog.
Can I earn from my World?
Yes. Worlds can earn Earned Gold from engagement payouts and In-World Purchases. See How do I earn Gold from my World or Room?
