The three counts on your profile measure different things, so they're rarely equal. Following is everyone you follow, Followers is everyone who follows you, and Friends is only the players who follow you and whom you follow back. For how following works, see How do friends and followers work?
Why is my Following count higher than my Friends count?
Some of the players you follow don't follow you back. They count toward Following but not Friends. The same goes the other way: followers you haven't followed back don't count as Friends.
Why didn't my count go up when I followed someone?
If that player's posts are private, following them sends a follow request instead. It only counts once they accept it. See How do I make my profile private?
Why did my Followers count go down?
The usual reasons:
someone unfollowed you
you removed a follower
one of you blocked the other, which removes follows both ways
Can I hide these counts?
No. The counts are always shown on your profile.
There's someone in my count I can't find. What now?
Scroll through the full list on your profile (Friends, Followers, or Following) to look for the account.
Close and reopen the app, then check again.
If the number still doesn't match the people in the list, Support can look into it. Contact Support from Support Center in the app menu and include:
your username
which count looks wrong, and the number you expected
a screenshot of your profile showing the counts
Support can check your account and send it to the team if something needs fixing.
