Gold Bars are Gold in bar form. You buy them with Gold in the Vault, then trade them, tip with them, or redeem them back into Gold. When a Gold Bar goes into a trade, the other player receives its value as Gold. You can also put Gold straight into a trade; see How does trading work?
How do I buy Gold Bars?
Tap your Gold balance to open your Wallet, then tap Gold Bars to open the Vault. You can also open it from My Items with Go to Vault.
On the Purchase side, pick the bar you want and buy it with Gold.
The bar goes into your inventory.
Why does a Gold Bar cost more than it's worth?
Every Gold Bar costs more Gold to buy than the Gold it's worth when someone cashes it in. The Purchase side of the Vault shows the price, and the Redeem side shows what each bar is worth. The difference isn't paid to the other player: it's removed from the game, which helps keep the Gold economy in check.
How do I give Gold to someone?
Trade: add Gold Bars to a trade. When the other player collects the trade, the bars turn into Gold in their balance.
Gold in a trade: tap Add Gold to Trade instead. The other player gets the amount you enter, and you pay a 10% trade fee on top, rounded up to the nearest whole Gold.
Tip: tipping uses Gold Bars too. You pay the bar's price and the other player receives its value.
All trades are final, so check the amount before you confirm. If a trade is canceled before it's collected, the bars stay with you.
I have Gold Bars in my inventory. How do I turn them back into Gold?
Open your Wallet and tap Gold Bars to open the Vault.
Tap Redeem.
Choose how many bars to redeem and confirm.
Only Gold Bars that are in your inventory can be redeemed. If you placed a bar in a room as decoration, pick it up first.
Is it safe to trade Gold Bars with people I don't know?
Trades are final and Support can't reverse a trade you agreed to. Never send Gold Bars first on a promise of something later, and don't buy Gold Bars or Gold from anyone outside Highrise. For more on staying safe, see the Safety, Reports & Policies section of this Help Center.
