Inbox Media allows HR+ Subscribers to send images and videos directly through the Inbox. This feature enhances connection and interaction, bringing a richer, more visual component to conversations.
Who can use the Inbox Media feature?
This feature is currently only available for HR+ Subscribers. Non-subscribers can still receive and view these messages but cannot respond with any media of their own.
What types of media can I send?
HR+ Subscribers can send:
Photos
Videos (up to 10MB)
How do I send media in a message?
Selecting Media: Tap the media button to open your device's gallery; here, you can select up to a max of 9 items to share at once.
Sending Media: After selection, hit confirm to send. Your chosen media will then begin to upload with a visible loader on each image or video to show you its progress.
Management: Media sent can be downloaded or reported by the recipient.
Can I send multiple images or videos at once?
Yes, you can send up to 9 images or a mix of images and videos in a single message. Videos are treated as separate messages if mixed with images and have a max allowed size of 10MB.
What are the size restrictions for media files?
The total size limit for media files is 10MB. Files larger than this limit will be compressed automatically.
How is media displayed in conversations?
Single content images and media will display normally in a chat. Multiple images will appear in a grid layout, and videos will play directly in the conversation.
How does the media viewer work?
Tapping on an image or video in a conversation opens it in full-screen mode, where you can then zoom, pan, and swipe through multi-image messages. Videos will display the options to play/pause and display the time remaining.
What safety measures are in place for Inbox Media?
Our sophisticated Trust & Safety systems scan all media sent between users, which stops any bad content from being shared. If you believe content that violates our guidelines has slipped through, you can also report that content directly to us using the in-app report system.
Are there any special considerations for minors?
Yes, users under 18 are not allowed to send media messages, even if they are HR+ subscribers. Additionally, if an adult is in a chat with a minor and tries to send a media message, the media will not be visible to minors. We want to ensure a safe and appropriate environment for all of our users.
