A Highrise bot is a program you write and run yourself that joins your Room as its own avatar. Bots can greet guests, run games and trivia, track leaderboards, react to emotes, collect tips, and more. You create a bot in the Creator Portal, then connect it with the Highrise Bot API or the Python SDK. It takes programming experience and a computer or server to host it.
How do I create a bot?
Sign in at https://create.highrise.game and open the Dashboard, then Bots & API Keys.
Create a new bot, read the notice, and confirm you have the technical skills needed.
Give your bot a username, then generate its API token. Keep the token private: anyone with it can control your bot.
Give the bot designer rights in the Room you want it to join.
Get your Room's ID from the room's share link in the app.
Connect the bot using the Bot API and Python SDK guides.
Why can't I create a bot?
Not every account can create bots. Eligibility depends on your account's history and standing, and Highrise doesn't publish the exact criteria. If bot creation doesn't work for your account, keep following the Community Guidelines and try again later. Support can't unlock bot creation on request.
How do tips to my bot work?
Gold tipped to a bot is paid to the bot as Earned Gold, which the bot's owner can cash out through the Creator Exchange. Each bot has its own wallet. From the bot's page in Bots & API Keys, you can add Gold to the bot's wallet or withdraw from it. See What is Earned Gold and how do I cash it out?
Am I responsible for what my bot does?
Yes. You're responsible for everything your bot does. If a bot breaks the Community Guidelines, action is taken against the owner's account.
Where can I get help building a bot?
The Bot API docs cover setup and every event and command. For coding help, ask in the Highrise Discord or on the creator forums. Support can't debug bot code, but can help if your bot's wallet or Earned Gold is wrong. Contact Support with your username and your bot's username, and never share your API token.
