How do I change my Highrise notifications?

Turn push and in-app notifications on or off and choose which updates you get.

Go to Settings > Notifications. You can switch all push or in-app notifications on or off at once, or open a category and choose exactly which updates you want.

How do I turn notifications on or off?

  1. Open the app menu and tap Settings.

  2. Scroll to Notifications and tap Notifications.

  3. Use the Push Notifications and In-app Notifications switches to turn each type on or off. On Windows and macOS, including Steam, Highrise doesn't send push notifications, so you'll only see In-app Notifications.

If both are off, the categories below can't be changed until you turn one back on.

How do I choose which notifications I get?

On the same screen, tap a category, then pick an option for each notification in it. Categories include:

  • Posts & Comments: comments, likes, mentions, and new posts in your Feed

  • Following & Followers: new followers, follow requests, and accepted requests

  • Inbox: calls, direct messages, message requests, group invites, Crew chat, gifts, and streaks

  • Shop, Worlds, My Worlds, Crew, Second-Hand Grabs, From Highrise, and Events

Some notifications are simply on or off. Others that involve another player let you choose Everyone, Profiles I Follow, or Off, so you can hear only from people you follow.

I turned notifications on, but nothing arrives. Why?

Your phone or tablet has its own notification permission for Highrise. If it's off, Highrise shows a note at the top of the Notifications screen. Tap Go to device settings and allow notifications for Highrise there.

Can I get notifications by text message?

Where phone number sign-in is available, the Notifications screen also shows SMS Notifications. Open it and use the Promotional texts switch to choose whether Highrise texts you about offers and events. You can also reply STOP to any of those texts to unsubscribe.

Can I stop strangers' message requests from notifying me?

Yes. Open the Inbox category and set Message Requests to Profiles I Follow or Off. New requests still arrive in your Inbox under Message Requests, but they won't notify you. There's no setting that blocks requests altogether. To stop one player, block them. See What are Message Requests in my Inbox? and How do I block or mute someone?
