How do I stay safe on Highrise?

Practical tips for protecting your personal information, your account, and yourself while playing.

Keep your personal details and login private, use Block and Report when someone crosses a line, and only trust official Highrise channels. The sections below cover each one.

How old do I need to be to play?

You need to be 13 or older. Players under 18 can't send or view photos and videos in messages, and voice chat and 18+ Rooms and Worlds need Age Verified 18+ status. See Which features are limited by age, and why can't I use voice?

What should I keep private?

You can't know who someone really is online. Keep these to yourself, even with friends you met in the game:

  • Your real full name, home address, school, or phone number.

  • Your email address and other social media accounts.

  • Photos that show where you live or go to school.

Be careful with anyone who pushes you to move the chat to another app, asks for photos, or offers Gold or items in exchange for personal details.

How do I protect my account?

  • Never share your password, Safety Lock PIN, or verification codes. Highrise staff will never ask for them.

  • Use a password you don't use anywhere else, and keep your email account secure too.

  • Turn on Safety Lock in Settings. It blocks some features for anyone signing in from a different device. You need a registered email to set it up. See What is Safety Lock and how do I use it?

  • Only sign in through the Highrise app or official Highrise websites.

Are links from other players safe?

Treat them with suspicion. Highrise warns you when a link leaves the app. Never enter your Highrise login on a site someone sends you, especially one promising free Gold. See What are common scams on Highrise?

What should I think about before posting?

Once you post a photo or video, other players can see it, screenshot it, and share it. Post only what you're comfortable with everyone seeing.

What if someone makes me uncomfortable?

Block them, then report what happened. See How do I block or mute someone? and How do I report a player or content? If you're struggling or feel unsafe, see Hey, are you okay?
