What is Safety Lock and how do I use it?

Set up Safety Lock, the 6-digit PIN that protects trades, purchases, and account changes on new devices, and reset it if you forget it.

Safety Lock is an optional 6-digit PIN for your account. Once it's on, anyone using your account on a different device has to enter the PIN before they can trade, buy or sell items, send tips, or change your account details.

What does Safety Lock protect?

On a device where the PIN hasn't been entered, Highrise asks for it before actions like these:

  • accepting trades, selling items, and buying or listing on the Marketplace

  • sending tips and collecting tip jars

  • setting up or spinning player Grab machines

  • changing your username, email, or password, or connecting a login method

  • deleting your account

Highrise remembers the last device where you entered your PIN. If you switch to another device, it asks again.

How do I turn on Safety Lock?

You need an email address on your account first. Without one, Highrise shows Register an email first.

  1. Open Settings, then Account Management, then Safety Lock.

  2. Turn on Enable Safety Lock.

  3. Enter a 6-digit PIN, then enter it again to confirm.

  4. Check the box that says Highrise can't recover a forgotten PIN for you, then tap Got it.

Pick a PIN that isn't your birthday or a simple pattern, and don't reuse it anywhere else.

I forgot my PIN. How do I reset it?

  1. On the PIN screen, tap I forgot my pin.

  2. On the Forgot your pin? pop-up, tap Got it. Highrise emails a link to the address on your account. The link works for 24 hours.

  3. Open the link to turn off Safety Lock, then set a new PIN in the app.

Support can't see or tell you your PIN. If you can't open the email on your account, see How do I add, change, or verify the email on my account?

How do I turn Safety Lock off?

  1. Open the Safety Lock screen and switch off Enable Safety Lock.

  2. Type your username to confirm it's you, then tap Turn off Safety Lock PIN.

  3. Enter your PIN on the Disable Safety Lock screen and tap Save.

Highrise staff will never ask you to turn off Safety Lock. If someone did, stop and contact Support.

Does Highrise have two-factor authentication?

On highrise.game, you can turn on Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) in your website settings. It uses an authenticator app, offers backup codes, and asks for a code when you log in on the website. In the app, Safety Lock is the extra step you control. Highrise may also pause some transfers after a login on a new device: see Why can't I trade, tip, or gift after logging in on a new device?

Should I ever share my PIN?

No. Support, moderators, and Highrise staff never ask for it.
