Why do I need to verify?

Highrise requires age verification to keep the community safe and to comply with platform and legal requirements. The platform also uses advanced facial recognition technology to verify users' ages and assigns them to appropriate age categories based on verified information. This categorization helps maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all users.

The age verification process on Highrise is designed to uphold safety, security, and compliance on the platform. It ensures appropriate access to features based on verified age groups.

To further ensure safety and privacy on the platform, Highrise guarantees that all submitted verification documents are used only for verification purposes. These documents are stored securely and are never shared with third parties.

How to start the verification process:

  1. Open the hamburger menu in the app and tap Settings

  2. Select Privacy

  3. Tap Age Verification

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions

What do I need to verify successfully?

  1. Follow the on-screen instructions and take a clear, live selfie directly using your device’s camera. Pre-taken photos, printed images, or images from other sources will not be accepted.

  2. Select your country from the list.

  3. Choose the ID type you’ll use to confirm your identity, ensuring it is a government-issued identification document (e.g., passport, driver’s license) with clear visibility of your date of birth and identity.

  4. Take a photo of your ID and submit it within 24 hours of your selfie. Ensure that your upload is free of glare and all text is legible. Complete the process promptly, as interruptions may require obtaining a new verification link from Support. This link typically remains valid for 24 hours.

  5. Verification must be completed by the account owner only—submissions from parents, guardians, or friends are not allowed.

  6. Wait while your ID is processed (this may take some time). If any issues arise, including errors or suspected misclassifications, contact Highrise Support with all relevant information for review and resolution.

Prohibited Actions

To maintain the integrity of the verification process, the following actions are not allowed:

  • Misrepresenting your identity by using another person’s credentials.

  • Submitting pre-taken selfies, printed images, or photographs captured from other mediums.

  • Delegating the process to friends, family members, or others.

  • Attempting to manipulate or subvert the verification system in any way may result in permanent account suspension.
