Why is my account banned or suspended?

Learn why your account may be restricted and what to expect.

Accounts may be suspended or banned for violating Community Guidelines, such as:

  • Harassment, bullying, or witch-hunting

  • Hate speech or discriminatory language

  • Explicit content

  • Scamming or trading violations

  • Multiple account violations (e.g., using alternate accounts to bypass sanctions or gain unfair advantages)

  • Minor safety violations

If your account is under review or suspended:

  • You may see a message when logging in

  • Temporary suspensions expire automatically

  • Permanent bans are issued for serious or repeated violations- Some bans, such as those for minor safety violations, are non-appealable

  • You may submit an appeal if you believe the action was made in error

Appeals Process

If you believe your account was muted, suspended, or banned in error, you can submit an appeal. The appeals team will review your account activity and the circumstances of the sanction. If the action aligns with Highrise’s policies, the decision will remain unchanged. However, if an error is identified, corrective action will be taken.

Preventative Measures

To avoid future sanctions:

  • Familiarize yourself with Highrise’s community guidelines.

  • Engage respectfully with other users.

  • Avoid using multiple accounts to gain unfair advantages.

  • Refrain from sharing explicit content or engaging in unsafe interactions. By adhering to these guidelines, you can contribute to a positive and safe community experience on Highrise.
