Protecting Yourself from Scams

Highrise is a social game, and while most users play fairly, scams can happen. Knowing what to avoid helps protect your account, items, and Gold.

Updated this week
  • Fake giveaways: Users promising free Gold or items if you tip them first

  • Trade switch-ups: Changing or removing items at the last second in a trade

  • External links: Phishing attempts that ask for your login info outside the app

  • Impersonation: Users pretending to be Highrise staff or well-known creators

  • Third-party selling: Sites or people selling Gold/items outside of Highrise are never legit

  • Item switching scam - traded items are switched with lesser valued items

  • Item removal scam - items are removed or gold deducted to a smaller amount

  • Account selling - accounts sold offline for real money or gold. High risk of getting scammed, account recovered by original creator after sale, permanently banned. Accounts cannot be traded, sold, or given away. All accounts must be used by their original creator.

How to stay safe:

  • Never tip or gift before receiving an item. If you’re asked to send Gold first, it’s almost always a scam

  • Use the Safety Lock. Set a PIN in Settings to protect your items from unauthorized transfers

  • Don’t share personal info. Your email, password, and PIN should never be shared with anyone

  • Only trade inside the game. Don’t complete deals over Instagram, Discord, or other platforms

  • Report suspicious users. Use in-game reporting on messages, trades, or room chats

Highrise staff will never:

  • Ask for your password or PIN

  • DM you about trades, giveaways, or account bans

  • Require tipping or payment for support services

If something feels off, it probably is. Report it and walk away.
